Our BHS Seniors have begun our career planning unit in Consumer Education. Part of this unit is learning to write application essays, write resume and cover letters, and learn interview techniques and skills. In order to better prepare the students for life after high school, community members are invited to present information to the class. Today, we had the honor of learning from Brandon Nolte, a BHS graduate, and successful businessman, currently working for Instacart in marketing and advertising. He gave the students a lot of useful information on networking, reading a room, and how to present oneself to potential employers. Thank you, Brandon for your time and information to help our BHS Seniors!

The Brussels CUSD 42 Board of Education is conducting a search for a new superintendent. The selection of a new superintendent/principal is probably the most important decision a board of education has to make; therefore, the Board has hired the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) to assist in this process. The Board of Education is seeking everyone’s input in the search process. The Board requests that all board members, all staff, all parents and community members complete an online survey provided by the IASB. The results will be tallied and used by the Board and Screening Team to develop a brochure to advertise the position. All survey responses and comments will remain anonymous. The survey can be accessed at at this link (copy and past this into a browser): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/V8PQB8T The survey deadline is: November 19, 2023. Thank you for taking time to complete the survey.

Good Evening Parents and High School Students, I am reaching out to let you know that the board discussed BHS Homecoming this evening. The date is set for October 21. We will attend Calhoun's Homecoming Parade on September 29 to support our athletes. Permission slips will be sent home tomorrow to give your student permission to attend. In addition, Calhoun has opened their dance to our students to attend without having guest forms. However, we will not be able to reciprocate this offer as we do not have the space for many extra students to attend. We will welcome any guests our students would like to bring with a guest permission slip. Thank you.
