Melissa Zipprich, PA-C, from JCH Medical Group came in to speak to our Health Careers today. She explained her career as a physician's assistant. The students were impressed with her description of education, work responsibilities, salary, and love of the field. We appreciate her sharing her insight with us and giving our students a promising career option in the healthcare field!

From player reports to play analysis, Coach Hillen, Coach Hagen, and the Lady Warriors were well prepared to take on West Central last night in the Regional Championship game. Their hard work paid off with a 42-40 win over West Central and a Regional Championship title again this season. The Lady Warriors move on to the first round of Sectionals Tuesday, February 21st, at Jacksonville Routt at 7:30 pm to take on Carlyle who defeated Father McGivney 52-46. Regardless of who they face, the Lady Warriors are well prepared as they have worked hard all season to secure their number one regional seed. Good Luck Lady Warriors and Congratulations on the Regional Title.

Dear Parents/Guardians, Once again, I am sending out a letter to inform you that today an adult in our elementary school has tested positive for COVID19. It is likely that many of the students in the school have had close contact with that person. Please monitor your child’s health closely. At any time, if you would like our school nurse to test your child for COVID19, that testing is available for our students. If you prefer, the test may be sent home for your use. Please note that we are also experiencing the typical winter ailments of colds, flu and sore throat. If your child is sick, please keep him/her at home. As this school year continues, we will continue to work to provide the safest learning environment possible for all of our students. It is our hope that all of our students and staff will have a safe, healthy and happy school year. Sincerely, Mark R. Martin Superintendent/Elementary School Principal

The High School Girls Basketball team begins regionals tonight, 2/13, at Calhoun at 6:00 pm. The Lady Warriors take on Maryville Christian who is coming off a regional win against Triopia on 2/11. Maryville Christian defeated Triopia 37-36. Though the Lady Warriors did not play Maryville Christian in the regular season, they did defeat Triopia astronomically both times the teams faced each other. The Lady Warriors not only have home court advantage and the number one regional seed when they take on Maryville Christian this evening, they also have an extremely athletic, hardworking team, which should land the Lady Warriors in the regional championship on Thursday, 2/16, at 7:00 pm.

If your child is interested in doing Science Fair, please be sure to sign up on the google form online. We are really excited to see some amazing experiments and investigations. Students don't need to know what they are doing yet to sign up. Once you sign up, we can send a student guide packet home with the student. The project does need to be an experiment or investigation and not a model. I'm going to attach a couple links to help students find something they are interested in doing. https://www.sciencebuddies.org/ http://www.all-science-fair-projects.com/

Hello Parents/Guardians, I am reaching out to inform you about a new system we have implemented at Brussels CUSD42. This new system allows us to contact you via landline phone, cell phone, and text message to convey information regarding snow days, eLearning days, events in the district, emergencies, etc. We will begin using this system with the next snow or eLearning day in addition to having the information on Channels 2, 4, 5, 11, 30; the Brussels Facebook page, and our website (brussels42.net). On Saturday, February 4, 2023, we will do a test call at 10:00 a.m. This system will work with the information (phone numbers) that you provided to us when you registered your child(ren) for school. It is important that we have your most current information on file. If you do not receive a test call/text, please contact me at plong@brussels42.net. Thank you!
